The winners of The Bonnies 2017

The Bonnie Bird Choreography Fund has announced the recipients of The Bonnies 2017 awards, at a ceremony that took place on 1 December at Sadler’s Wells. The guest speaker, choreographer Shobana Jeyasingh, presented the awards, including the Marion North Mentoring Awards, the Bonnie Bird New Choreography Award and the Bonnie Bird Lifetime Contribution to Choreography Award. English National Ballet’s principal casting

Following performances in London and on tour this autumn, English National Ballet presents Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s masterwork, Song of the Earth, and Frank Andersen’s faithful version of the 1830s Romantic ballet La Sylphide at the London Coliseum this January, where Roland Petit’s Le Jeune Homme et la Mort will also be revived. Birmingham Royal Ballet’s first relaxed performance

Birmingham Royal Ballet has announced its first ever relaxed performance, adding to the fast-growing repertoire of relaxed performances staged across London and the rest of the country. The relaxed performance will take place on 20 February 2018 at the Birmingham Hippodrome; it will have a shorter running time than usual, with changes to lighting, sound and seating to make the performance and auditorium a more inviting and welcoming space. The Sound of Music to embark on a new UK tour

Bill Kenwright’s esteemed production of The Sound of Music is to embark on a new UK tour in 2018, it has recently been announced. As such an iconic musical, this will delight musical theatre fans across the country, able to see a timeless classic on their doorsteps. The show opens at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin on 19 December and will then embark on the tour from 9 January at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley. Flamencos del Sur at The Peña Flamenca de Londres

The Peña Flamenca de Londres, London’s friendly flamenco club, has this year welcomed Flamencos del Sur, a group of top-class performers travelling directly from Granada. Sunday 10 December saw the group present its ‘puro flamenco’, a super-charged gypsy style that is a far cry from choreographed ballet flamenco. Tango After Dark’s world premiere

Germán Cornejo’s Tango After Dark will receive its world premiere at London’s The Peacock theatre, running from Wednesday 28 February – Saturday 17 March. International tango star Cornejo will be welcomed back to London with his company, widely acclaimed by critics and audiences all over the world as one of the most distinguished tango artists working today.
