Ofqual recently released full entry figures for all GCSE qualifications: One Dance UK has consequently reported an increase in the number of entries for AQA GCSE Dance in the current academic year. The number of entries has risen by 8%, the first increase in several years, with over 200 new schools delivering the qualification, including schools in Northern Ireland, England and Wales. Dame Margot Fonteyn: a name change
The Royal Academy of Dance has announced the name change of its Genée International Ballet Competition to the Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition, effective from 2020, to mark Fonteyn’s 100th birthday last month. As one of the world’s most prestigious ballet competitions, it will return to the UK for the first time in five years. Frozen announces open casting call
The West End production of Frozen has announced an open call for auditionees across UK and Ireland. The show, based on the hit Disney film of the same name, opens at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in autumn 2020, and will be holding auditions this summer at six different locations.
