Rambert highlights the use of dance in medicine

Britain’s national dance company, Rambert, invites arts practitioners and healthcare professionals to a day of workshops, panel discussions and practical sessions, with opportunities to share and discuss experiences, learning and insight around dance in healthcare. The event marks the conclusion of a three-year programme run by Rambert and supported by City Bridge Trust, exploring the therapeutic and wellbeing benefits of dance in a variety of healthcare contexts, from regular dance classes for people living with Parkinson’s or dementia, to working with patients in hospitals and day centres. The Snowman returns

The Snowman has transported children into the wintery wonderland of a boy and his magical snowman for a record-breaking 20 consecutive years in London’s West End, at The Peacock theatre. With a mix of dancing and live music – including Walking in the Air – the pair embark on a starry-skied adventure to the North Pole, where they meet dancing penguins, reindeer, Father Christmas, an Ice Princess, and escape the clutches of Jack Frost. Stomp to close after 15 years

The Olivier Award-winning and global phenomenon STOMP will end its 15 year run in London’s West End on 7 January 2018, following a box office record-breaking 10 year run at London’s Ambassadors Theatre. However, the creators of STOMP have stated that this is by no means the end of STOMP in London. They believe it will benefit the production to take a break, reconfigure, reinvent and return at some point in the future in a different London venue, presenting the show more in line with its original ethos. One Dance UK secures Active Ageing funding from Sport England

As part of its Dance in Health & Wellbeing partnership with People Dancing, One Dance UK has been successful in receiving National Lottery funding from Sport England Active Ageing for a dance programme to tackle inactivity in areas of Leeds, Bradford and Doncaster over the next three years, working closely with Yorkshire Dance, the region’s dance development organisation. West End discount ticket booth to expand

The Society of London Theatre’s TKTS ticket booth in Leicester Square could be revamped as a two-storey structure featuring a café and a roof-top performance space, if plans submitted to Westminster City Council are successful. Known as the central hub for discounted theatre tickets, the ticket booth in London’s Leicester Square could be radically re-designed, and even include a performance space too to add to the versatility of the building. Hagit Yakira Dance returns

Award-winning Israeli choreographer Hagit Yakira founded Hagit Yakira Dance in 2007 and has since gone on to tour the UK, Europe, Scandinavia and Israel.
