Richard Alston Dance Company has announced its Sadler’s Wells season, Quartermark, which will run on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 March 2019.
Following the announcement of the company’s closure in 2020, this will be the first of its final two seasons at the theatre. As the company enters its 25th year, it will present two works by Alston, and one by the company’s associate choreographer, Martin Lawrance under the title Quartermark.

Following a nationwide search, Britain’s brightest young dance talent will join the New Adventures company for the world premiere of Matthew Bourne’s Romeo and Juliet opening at Curve, Leicester on 13 May 2019. A UK tour will follow to 13 venues, including a four-week summer season at Sadler’s Wells from 7 to 31 August 2019. 
The much anticipated autumn tour of Didy Veldman’s The Knot, for her company Umanoove, kicks off at Lakeside Arts, Nottingham on Tuesday 6 November. The tour of the wedding-inspired dance theatre work follows a successful spring tour, and also heads to Cambridge, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Bracknell, Worthing, London, Jersey, Plymouth, Bournemouth and Malvern. 
Bradley Waller trained at the NECB School and Rambert School for Ballet and Contemporary Dance. Originally joining as an apprentice, Bradley became a full-time member of BalletBoyz in three months and is now also one of the directors of the Dancer’s Course. He has toured nationally and internationally and will make his fifth season with the company. 
Arts organisations and schools across England will be brought together through a new £5million scheme aimed at increasing young people’s access to the performing arts. The places with fewer opportunities to take part in performances will be prioritised in the scheme. 
Scottish Ballet recently announced its 2019/2020 season including the world premieres of Helen Pickett’s The Crucible opening the Edinburgh International Festival dance programme in 2019, and Christopher Hampson’s The Snow Queen in Winter 2019. To create new work on an unprecedented scale, Scottish Ballet also launches Five in Five, aiming to stage five new full-length ballets in five years. 
There is a lot on the cards for Rambert during the remainder of this year, and into next year too. As part of the company’s work there will be new works by Marion Motin and Benoit Swan Pouffer, the UK revivals of Wayne McGregor’s PreSentient and Hofesh Shechter’s In Your Rooms, and new partnerships with Manchester International Festival, The Royal Ballet and Théâtre de la Ville, Paris. In addition to this, Rambert2 launches its inaugural season, including works by Rafael Bonachela and Sharon Eyal, and Ohad Naharin’s Kamuyot. 
Since its founding in 1999, more than 80,000 ballet dancers have participated in competitions such as the Youth America Grand Prix, as just one dance competition statistic available of many. While more than YAGP 450 alumni are currently dancing in companies across the world, the vast majority never become professional dancers, let alone those who take part in other competitions as well. 
Richard Alston Dance Company has announced that its final tour will take place in 2019-2020. Richard Alston has been creating dance for over 50 years and his company has been resident at The Place for the past 24 years. In that time, Alston has played a major role in the world of contemporary dance, developing a unique and distinct dance language and shaping the art form in this country. 
This month internationally renowned interdisciplinary performance company, CLOD ENSEMBLE will premiere its latest production. Placebo is directed by Suzy Willson, features original music by Paul Clark; having opened at The Lowry, Salford it will tour to Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, Brighton, DERELICT, Preston and will end with a two-week run at The Place in London.
