Sadler’s Wells launches new ticket scheme for young people

Sadler’s Wells has announced the launch of Barclays Dance Pass, the theatre’s new ticket scheme offering £10 tickets to 16 to 30-year-olds as part of a major partnership with Barclays.

Barclays Dance Pass makes 10,000 tickets per year available at £10 each to those registered with the scheme. No booking fee applies, and registered Barclays Dance Pass holders can purchase two tickets per production. Tickets are available for all productions across the theatre’s venues: Sadler’s Wells Theatre, the Lilian Baylis Studio and The Peacock. The scheme will also apply to performances at the theatre’s new mid-scale venue, opening in Stratford, east London in 2022.

Registration to Barclays Dance Pass is free. Dance Pass holders can book for shows in the Spring 2020 season, beginning with Sadler’s Wells Sampled. The season also includes the latest in the Composer Series with a focus on Nico Muhly, featuring choreography from Julie Cunningham, Michael Keegan-Dolan and Justin Peck; The Rite of Spring / common ground[s], a Sadler’s Wells, Pina Bausch Foundation and École des Sables Production; Lloyd Newson’s Enter Achilles co-produced by Sadler’s Wells and Rambert; and UK premieres of works by Sadler’s Wells Associate Artists Crystal Pite and Michael Keegan-Dolan.

Barclays will also become Associate Partner of National Youth Dance Company (NYDC) for the next three years. Run by Sadler’s Wells and funded by the Department for Education and Arts Council England, NYDC creates and performs innovative and influential dance, bringing together the brightest talent from across England to work intensively with Sadler’s Wells’ renowned Associate Artists and visiting companies. Since its creation in 2013, NYDC has worked with 2,800 young dancers, over 80% of whom have gone on to further dance training or professional work.

Over three years, Barclays Dance Pass will give 30,000 young people the opportunity to experience world-class dance at Sadler’s Wells, and its support will enable National Youth Dance Company to provide a diverse, talented group of young artists from across the country an unrivalled opportunity to jump-start their careers.
