The show will open in Leicester, and will run from 3 – 24 November before touring to Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin, Festival Theatre in Edinburgh and Manchester Palace Theatre. Further touring dates will be announced in due course, making up a fully-fledged tour of the UK. This latest version to tour comes straight from its recent Broadway run where it triumphed, and is now on another sell-out tour of North America. Many audiences are in agreement that this particular version of the show is even more spectacular than the original.
Les Misérables is an adaptation of Victor Hugo’s novel, with songs including “I Dreamed a Dream”, “On My Own”, “Stars”, “Bring Him Home”, “Do You Hear the People Sing?”, “One Day More”, and “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables”. The show is currently running in the West End, and first opened in France in 1980. Recently Les Misérables won the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Original Cast Recording.
This Boublil and Schönberg musical therefore remains as fresh, thrilling and exciting as ever, demonstrated by the fact that people are still clamouring for a ticket to see the show. For this version, the new staging has scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo and has toured to North America, South America, Korea, Japan, Canada, Australia, Dubai and Singapore.
Les Misérables will tour the UK until 30 March 2019.
